Sedalia, MO – Congratulations to Team SK’s Erich Mietenkorte for winning the Washington State High-Power Silhouette Championship. Mietenkorte also won the Washington State Smallbore Silhouette title just last month.
The 2022 Washington State High-Power Silhouette Championship was held in Pe Ell, Washington on September 10th and 11th. Hosted by the Pe Ell Sportsmen’s Club, the two-day match had competitors competing in both Standard and Hunter rifle classes. Saturday’s match featured the Standard rifle with two 40 shot matches with targets at 200, 300, 385 and 500 meters in the offhand position. Sunday repeated the course of fire, but with hunter rifles.
Mietenkorte stated, “Using Lapua 6.5×47 cases paired with Vihtavuori N140 powder and Lapua Scenar bullets, I was able to secure the Standard Rifle State Title with a score of 73 out of 80 targets hit. On Sunday, I used my 6BR hunter rifle to win both 40 shot matches to earn the Hunter Rifle Trophy with a score of 67 out of the 80 targets to take the win. I used Lapua 6BR cases filled with Vihtavuori N140 powder and Berger 105 Grain VLD Target bullets to take down the chicken, pig, turkey, and ram targets.”
