Lapua Supported US F-Class Team Heads to World Championship
Sedalia, MO – Lapua, world-renowned for producing the finest rifle cases for competitive shooting, is supporting the 2023 United States F-Class team as they compete this week at the World Championships in South Africa.
The US F-Class team is comprised of over 60 members competing in both the F-Open and F-Class Target Rifle (F-TR) divisions. For over five years, the US Team has been preparing to compete at the global event and to bring home the World Championship title. Team Lapua’s own Erik Cortina will be competing as part of the F-Open team.
The 2023 F-Class World Championships are being held at the Genl Wet Shooting Range in Bloemfontein, South Africa March 21st through April 1st. Competitors from around the globe will compete in both F-Class Target Rifle (F-TR) and F-Open divisions battling for the prestigious title of World Champion.

F-Class Target Rifle (F-TR) category has strict requirements for a “ready-to-go” rifle weighing no more than 18-lbs. Chambers are required to be unmodified and use a standard .308/7.62 NATO or .223/5.56 NATO. The US F-TR team utilizes Lapua’s .308 Winchester and .308 Win Palma cases.
The F-Open category has requirements of a rifle weighing no more than 22 pounds and chambered in any caliber .35 and under. Rifles are fired in the prone position from the shoulder with an adjustable front rest and rear sandbag.
