Vihtavuori’s Doug Koening Wins 20th Bianchi Cup
Sedalia, MO – Congratulations to Team Vihtavuori member, Doug Koening on winning the 2024 CMP Bianchi Cup – International Pistol Tournament, making this his 20th time winning the prestigious championship. Koening scored a grand aggregate of 1920-183X.
The 2024 CMP Bianchi Cup was hosted by the Green Valley Rifle & Pistol Club in Hallsville, MO on May 21-24th. For the 2nd year, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), a national organization dedicated to training and educating citizens in responsible uses of firearms, governed the international competition. In partnering with Green Valley, the CMP looks to continue to grow the event with more shooters, and new divisions. The Bianchi Cup, known as the gold standard in action pistol shooting, has a 40+ year history and attracts the world’s foremost competitive shooters.
Koening, who competes with Vihtavuori N320, was in a tight race with fellow Team Vihtavuori memberBruce Piatt, SSG Walter Johnson, SSG Anthony Heinauer and Benito Martinez. Piatt finished in a close second place, followed by Johnson, Heinaure, and Martinez. The top finishers were only separated by 5 bullseyes.
