Sedalia, MO – Congratulations to Team Vihtavuori’s Francis Colon, who won the 2022 Kahles K&M Precision Rifle Competition this past weekend. Colon, who finished 2nd place in last year’s Kahles K&M event, came out on top this year competing with the 6mm Dasher cartridge loaded with Vihtavuori N150 powder behind Berger’s 6mm 109 Grain Long Range Hybrid Target bullets.
The 2022 Kahles K&M Precision Rifle Competition was held over Memorial Day weekend at the K&M Shooting Complex in Finger, TN. Competitors engaged an assortment of steel, reactive, and moving targets from 50 to 1,200 yards. The annual two-day bolt gun competition is both a Precision Rifle Series (PRS) and Armageddon Cup PRS Cup qualifier.
“The key to winning large national level matches is consistency in all aspects of your fundamentals, equipment, preparation, and most of all in your ammunition. I’ve tried virtually all powders and bullet combinations for popular 6mm and 6.5mm calibers, and there are two clear winners: Vihtavuori Powder and Berger Bullets,” commented Colon. “I power the Berger 6mm 109 grain Long Range Hybrid Target with Vihtavuori N150. This powder is unbelievably consistent over the wide range of temperatures that we see during matches. It almost feels like cheating! N150 combined with 109 LRHTs renders load development virtually unnecessary, printing tiny groups and even smaller SDs across the board. I couldn’t ask for anything more from a powder!”
Colon will compete next at the Punisher Position in Conway Springs, KS on June 28th.
